The Nina Liu Fund for the South Carolina Art Commission State Art Collection was established in 2019 through a generous donation by anonymous donors. It is the South Carolina Arts Foundation‘s first endowment.

In 2011, the South Carolina Arts Commission recognized Liu’s contributions to the arts by presenting her with the Elizabeth O’Neil Verner Governor’s Awards for the Arts, the State’s highest award in the arts.
The purpose of the fund is to support the acquisitions of art and/or provide for the maintenance, conservation, and storage of the collection. The fund’s assets are managed by Central Carolina Community Foundation.
